We have been quietly working on something special behind the scenes here at The Roost Retreats, and we are so excited to finally pull back the curtain and share a first look with you.
While they share the same soulful spirit and nature-first ethos as our beloved hand-built cedar cabins, our two new detached stone cottages—The Rookery and The Dovecote—offer a brand-new way to experience true luxury. Set within an intimate, charming courtyard, each property has been renovated to an high standard. However, we didn’t want them to be identical. Instead, we have curated them with two completely distinct interior styles and design personalities.
Sanctuaries Styled for Slow Mornings
We believe that true luxury starts with a restorative night’s sleep and an unhurried morning. That is why we poured our hearts into styling the bedrooms to offer two unique visual experiences.
The Rookery wraps you in total comfort. We have styled this space with rich, moody textures and deep tones, creating a cosy, dramatic sanctuary that invites you to instantly switch off from the outside world.

In contrast, The Dovecote embraces a different aesthetic. It features high ceilings and soft, neutral tones, creating a beautifully light, calm backdrop that makes you want to linger under the covers just a little bit longer.

The ultimate evening escape: your private cottage terrace featuring an outdoor sofa, infrared sauna for two, glowing patio heater, and a wood-fired pizza oven.
Turn on the festoon lights, step onto your exclusive terrace, and melt into your private spa area. Each cottage boasts its own infrared sauna built for two and an invigorating outdoor shower for a true self-care ritual. They each have their own breakfast terrace with patio heater, BBQ & pizza oven.
Fancy feeling a wild vibe? Your dedicated, remote Meadow Garden is waiting. Simply walk out of your courtyard gate, and just a few steps into the pretty green lane (which sits directly between the main Roost site and the cottages), and open your private gate into your own meadow garden. It is a peaceful, private spot completely surrounded by nature, perfect for sitting by a crackling fire.
