The Barn Living Room

There is a specific kind of magic in having space to breathe.

While our cabins at The Roost are designed for that close-knit, woody glow, The Barn was built for something different. It’s about volume, light, and architectural calm. It’s a place where the outside world feels a long way away, and the only schedule is the one you create.

If you’re joining us for a long weekend, here is how to spend 72 hours in total, spacious luxury.

Friday: The Arrival

The Barn kitchen

4:00 PM – Step Into the Light
The first thing you’ll notice is the volume. Drop your bags and take a moment to just be in the space. Put the kettle on, open the big doors, and let the countryside air flow through the high ceilings. It’s an immediate reset.

8:00 PM – The Private Cinema Experience
After a simple, seasonal supper, head to the Cinema Room. Sink into the oversized seating, dim the lights, and lose yourself in a great movie. With the latest tech and total privacy, it’s the ultimate way to leave the “real world” behind on your first night.

Saturday: The Slow Reset

9:00 AM – The Unhurried Morning
There are no alarms here. Enjoy a long, lazy breakfast in the open-plan living area. With so much natural light, even a rainy morning feels restorative when you have this much room to unwind.

11:00 AM – The Perfect Pub Walk
It wouldn’t be a trip to The Roost without a ramble. We’ve mapped out our favourite Perfect Pub Walk—a gentle loop through budding spring treelines. It’s just long enough to work up an appetite for a pint of local ale at the finish line.

4:00 PM – Your Private Spa Ritual
Head back to The Barn for a late afternoon of heat and water. Start with a session in your private indoor sauna to melt away any lingering tension, then move to the Japanese Soak Tub. These deep, traditional tubs are designed for total immersion—it’s not just a bath; it’s a meditative ritual.

Sunday: Heritage & Healing

10:30 AM – A Walk to St. Anthony’s Well
After a slow breakfast, take the wander down to St. Anthony’s Well. This ancient, tranquil spot is hidden in the woods and has been a place of pilgrimage for centuries. There is something deeply peaceful about the cold, clear water and the birdsong.

1:00 PM – Lunch in Ross-on-Wye
A short, scenic drive takes you to the historic market town of Ross-on-Wye. Perched high above the river, it’s the perfect place for a Sunday stroll. Browse the independent boutiques and antique shops, or find a spot for a traditional Sunday roast overlooking the Wye Valley.

7:00 PM – The Signature Dusk Ritual
Return to the sanctuary of The Barn as the light fades. We’ve curated every detail to feel like a high-end boutique hotel—from the tactility of the linens to the atmospheric lighting. It’s the perfect time for one last soak in the tub before a night of total quiet.
