WOOF!

The cabins are doggy friendly…

Don’t leave your best friend behind! Here at The Roost we love dogs. The cabins are dog friendly with secure garden areas and all your doggy needs are catered for. Your pooch will be spoilt with their own handmade truckle bed.

 DOGS LOVE COSY CABINS TOO!

To make it easier to stay with your furry friend, there’s dogs towels and bedding which sits in a gorgeous handmade doggy truckle bed. Some doggy treats along with poo bags and water and food bowls.

There are lots of great walks directly from the cabins and also a list of pubs, restaurants and attractions that are dog friendly.

If they come back a bit muddy, remember your doggy towels and the dog wash on the front of the site barn.
IMPORTANT: The Nature Pool is a Human-Only Sanctuary
While your pooch will love exploring our 2-acre wildflower meadow, dogs are forbidden from entering, swimming, or paddling in the Wild Swimming Pool or its shallow edges.

Our pool is a living, chemical-free rainwater ecosystem filtered entirely by native plants. Modern pet flea, tick, and worming treatments contain powerful pesticides that are highly toxic to aquatic life. Even a tiny trace washing off a dog’s coat into the shallow margins can devastate our nursery of dragonflies  and delicate plants, permanently damaging the biological filtration system.  Please keep your furry friends on the grass or deck while you enjoy your swim.

 A REALLY DOG FRIENDLY AREA…

The Forest of Dean and Wye Valley area is very dog friendly and many attractions and pubs accept dogs happily.

There is an abundance of walks along safe, hard forest tracks to keep out of any mud and also some lovely flat footpaths alongside the picturesque river Wye. Many of them have pubs en route so you can stop for a spot of lunch and a well-deserved rest with your furry friend. The Sculpture Trail at Beechenhurst is a lovely woodland walk and there is a cafe there too. Dogs are allowed on outside tables.

Bringing Your Dog

Each cabin has a dog secure garden area.

Well behaved, house trained dogs are welcome.  One medium sized dog and up to two small dogs. There is a charge £30 for one dog and £40 for two small dogs.
